Last phase of OSU South High Rise Project Almost Complete
Posted on December 11, 2013
The last phase of The Ohio State University South High Rise project is almost complete and ready to open for incoming freshman for OSU’s fall semester. This project has involved the renovation and expansion of five student housing facilities in the south campus area – Siebert, Stradley, Park, Smith, and Steeb Halls. The renovation of the existing 1950s buildings will meet both LEED® Silver Certification and the Ohio State Green Build policy requirements. SMBH, Inc. utilized a structural steel staggered truss framing system on this project which consisted of two 11-story towers connecting the existing Stradley to Park Hall and Smith to Steeb Hall. The already completed Smith-Steeb Hall provides community-oriented student housing in a contemporary setting.
