“The Structural Perspective of The Ohio State University North Residential District Transformation” was the topic of Joe Noser’s presentation to the American Concrete Institute's (ACI) student chapter at The Ohio State University on April 13.

The North Residential District Transformation (NRDT) at OSU added a total of 3,200 new beds (eight new residential buildings), a dining and event building, an athletic building and low rise additions to three existing towers in the district for a total of 1.1 million square feet of space.

The presentation discussed the various aspects of the project from a structural perspective. Topics included: working in a studio environment, collaboration with numerous consultants, development of structural systems, the delivery system (Design/Build) and BIM.
